Originally inspired by the book The Lost Words (Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris) and the idea that words from nature are silently disappearing from the pages of children's dictionaries, Hunt for the Wild Words works with humour, curiosity and adventure to gently explore some of the big questions around species loss and their link to climate change. Created for children, schools and families and ideal for all ages, presented by renowned Cornish dance theatre company: Cscape.
The performance will be immersive, with audience cast as the role of adventurers and will involve exploring and moving around a site, watching theatre and dance and getting involved by learning actions or words and short making activities.

The team are now looking for partners and venues interested to become involved in the support and development of this promenade piece, premiering initially in Cornwall in the Summer of 2023, with plans to re-site and tour across outdoor settings, in the UK, during 2023/24.
ENGAGEMENT

The show will be accompanied by an extensive programme of community and school’s engagement, through educational workshops with dancers and visual artists. Cscape will work with groups to create a short piece which will be performed as part of the show or used as set, and embedded in the professional work. Workshops will take place in the run up to the performance dates.
Along with the performances, community outreach and education offer, Cscape are committed to broadening access, and will be developing high quality, inclusive, digital content that deepens the understanding of the themes behind the work, which can be accessed online by audiences across the UK. The digital work will be used as a tool for both audience development and educational resource.
